Eye creams are formulated to treat the skin around and under the eyes. They are thicker and richer in oils than regular face moisturisers. They are packed with active ingredients that focus on treating the damages caused by the constant movement of the eyes such as dryness, dark circles and early aging signs. The application of eye cream will also help reduce puffiness caused by fluid retention.
Which eye cream should I use?
Eye creams are rich in active ingredients. If the skin under your eyes is dry and starting to show signs of aging, you want to look for a collagen eye cream that contains vitamin C, retinol and hyaluronic acid, these three ingredients boost the elasticity of your skin. Increasing the elasticity of the skin will help with fine lines and wrinkles.
If dark circles is the condition affecting you the most, we recommend going for a vitamin C and niacinamide rich formula that will help brighten up your skin.
How should I use it?
Apply your eye cream as step 8 of your Korean Skincare Routine, right after your face mask and before your moisturiser. The right application is what will give you the best results. When applying your cream, use a very small amount on your fingertips and gently tap the skin under your eyes from the inner to the outer corner with two to three fingers, this will activate the blood circulation and reduce dark circles. Do not rinse or dry. An additional tip is to keep your eye cream in the refrigerator. The cold temperature helps reduce puffiness more effectively.
