Face gels are moisturisers that are water-based and lightweight in texture. They are easily and quickly absorbed into the skin. Facial gels contain fewer emollients and oils than cream based moisturisers. Gels will hydrate your skin while calming and soothing any irritation.
Which face gel should I use?
There are many facial gels available. The most commonly used contain aloe vera. Aloe vera will soothe and calm irritated or burnt skin. Aloe vera based face gels are the perfect solution for sensitive skin types in need of hydration and moisture. You will also find variants of your favourite moisturising creams in the forms of gel. Combination and oily skin types will absolutely love face gel as they will get the hydration benefits without the greasy feelings creams can leave on the skin. However, facial gels are suitable for all skin types.
How should I use face gel?
Facial gel is a moisturiser so comes in at step 9 of your Korean Skincare routine. For your evening routine, this will be your last step as we don’t apply SPF in the evening. Gels are ideal to apply as part of your morning routine as they absorb immediately and allow you to apply your sunscreen right away. They will help reduce the feeling of having too much product on your face as compared with using a cream for example. Use a small amount and massage it on a cleansed, exfoliated, toned and treated skin. Do not rinse or dry.
